Bernard Schoenbaum
Bernard Schoenbaum (1920 – 2010), a son of European emigrants, was born and raised in New York City. He received his art education at Parsons School of Design and was a freelance advertising illustrator for many years. In 1972, Mr. Schoenbaum began his passion for cartooning with the New Yorker Magazine’s publication of his first cartoon. Since then, 463 of his cartoons appeared in the New Yorker as well as his numerous contributions to Barrons, Wall Street Journal, Playboy and countless periodicals and books. His work is also a part of many private collections. His other endeavors included teaching the figure, life drawing, portrait sketching, oil painting and watercolors.
