John Ruge is known primarily as a Playboy cartoonist and this cartoon, although not published in Playboy, conveys some of the elements that made him popular with that publication -- a risqué cartoon featuring the silhouette of an embracing couple, presumably after hours, behind the frosted glass door to a "Biology Laboratory."
This piece, apparently created in ink, ink wash, and white paint, presents beautifully on 15" x 22" Kromo-Lite Board. Published in the April 1947 issue of True Magazine per the handwritten notes and stamp on the reverse side. Discoloration consistent with age and minor damage to the corners of the board. Overall, very good condition.
