A whimsical glimpse of the future by Lee Lorenz in this original cartoon published in the New Yorker on March 26, 2001 with the caption "He's loyal and affectionate, and his Martinis are always ten to one."
Lee Lorenz knew a thing or two about cartoons -- he published more than 1,800 in the New Yorker during his lifetime and served as the magazine's Art Editor from 1973 - 1993, and then its Cartoon Editor from 1993 till his retirement in 1997.
Ink and ink wash on 13.5" x 17" bristol paper. Heavy use of white around around the head of the gentleman. Minor ripple to the paper from the ink wash. Overall, bright and in excellent condition. Lee's original published work is exceedingly rare; this piece is a steal at the sale price.
