Original hand-drawn cartoon by Barbara Smaller published in the New Yorker on July 31, 2011.  Barbara Smaller has published more than four hundred cartoons in the New Yorker since 1996. The Chicago native grew up in a family of six kids, and her depictions of children are always unique, clever and funny.
