Summer People are Coming! (Rough)

Excitement on the farm at summertime in this charming, original hand-drawn cartoon by Mort Gerberg.  This is an unpublished "rough" or preliminary draft of a final piece that was ultimately published in the New Yorker on June 8, 1998.  The final published piece ran with the caption "The summer people are coming! The summer people are coming!"

Ink and white out on 11" x 14" heavy card stock.  The pig and barn silo were redrawn, cut out and pasted onto the original.   A bordering paste-up has come loose from the image.  Overall, very good condition.
